Ways to Meet Virtually

With the uptick in Covid cases, we realize that some groups may not feel comfortable meeting in-person. What a blessing it is that we can still meet together online! Virtual groups are so important, especially during this time. There are several options for your group to transition to virtual meetings:

Video Chat Options

Zoom Meetings : If you and your group members are already familiar with Zoom, this is a great tool with plenty of capabilities for screen sharing, recording for members who can't be present, and accessibility across different devices.

Google Meet : Similar to Zoom, Google Meet allows you and your group members to meet together using video. Each group member will need a Gmail address to participate.

FaceTime : This option requires less setup and existing knowledge, but it is only available to iPhone users.

Facebook Group Video Chat : If everyone in your group has Facebook, you can simply add everyone to one group message and use Facebook's video chat feature to talk together.

Marco Polo : This unique phone app lets you chat one-on-one or with a group, but on your own time! Send videos that others in the group can watch live, or they can watch later when its convenient. Then, they can respond with their own video. Available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Video Chat Mobile Apps : Be sure to check with your group members to make sure that any chat app you choose is supported by whatever app store(s) your group members use.

Non-Video Options

Private Facebook Group : Simply invite everyone in your small group to a private Facebook group, where you can share weekly videos or other content, then have a group discussion in the chat! Make sure to review Facebook Group's privacy options to select the confidentiality level that works for your group.

Messenger Apps : Be sure to check with your group members to make sure that any chat app you choose is supported by whatever app store(s) your group members use.

Group Text : This option is the most simple, as it only requires all group members to have a cell phone that is capable of supporting group texts.

Meet Outside : If your group is local and comfortable with this option, you can find a public park, restaurant with an outdoor patio, or simply your own backyard to meet in-person while social distancing!
